Company Profile

Laboratory Glass Apparatus was founded in 1965 to provide custom glass blowing services to chemists,scientists and researchers in the various fields of science. Local universities and research laboratories were among the first to utilize our services. The following year, we began contract manufacturing (OEM) of glass components and apparatus for environmental, biotechnology, medical and scientific companies. Our first OEM account was to manufacture the Repipet™ dispenser, which was designed by LabIndustries (Berkeley, CA).

In 1985, we collaborated with UCSF and the US Army to develop our line of diffusion cells for in vitro percutaneous absorption studies. This line is sold under the trade name, Skin Permeation Systems.

In 1993, we expanded our glass blowing services to meet the needs of the decorative and functional glassware market. You can preview a few of our products under the Decorative Glassware tab.

The success of LGA is due to the knowledge and expertise of our glassblowers. Their combined skills and experience have enabled us to fabricate prototypes to production runs of most glassware. We utilize top quality, precision equipment. Our glassblowing lathes, milling machines, and other glass equipment are continuously maintained and repaired or replaced as needed.
